Review: Screw Santa

Screw Santa
Screw Santa by Joyee Flynn

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I thought this was a good start to a fun series. It was just enough to keep me wanting more. I am not one for extreme kink so this play right into what I love. Joyee never seems to disappoint me. I love her books and this series will be one I will read again and again even if it isn't Christmas time. Just the story behind it makes it worth the read.

This has to be one of my most favorite stories that I have read in a while! Kody, Benji, ans Stellan's story is one that sucks you in from the very beginning. Stormy Glenn has really out done herself with this one. I know this story will be one I read again and again!

Review: Faith, Trust, and Stardust

Faith, Trust, and Stardust
Faith, Trust, and Stardust by Gabrielle Evans

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was the sweetest story I have read in a while. The story between Caasius and Kendall was so sweet you could help but fall in love with them both. The struggle through out the book made for a good background story as well. I am looking forward to more books in this series.

Although I was a little disappointed in the last book in this series, I have to say that this edition more then made up for it! Aaron and Carey were just to good for each. The perfect match! I know I will be reading this book over and over again.

Conversations With My Friends

I love talking with my friends....they seem to always know what to say and how to bring up my spirit. I have very few friends because I am so picky about who I choose to have in my life that it is hard sometimes and can be lonely, but the up side is that when I am with my friends the time spent with them is so special that I cherish every moment.

Friendship

I have very few friends, but the ones I have I would never trade for anything. They are people I trust and people I know won't stab me in the back. There is nothing like thinking you can trust someone and then they stab you in the back the first chance they get. I have had that done many times and I know now not to trust so easily. The friends I have I know would not betray me like others have in my past. If you ever have the privilege of me calling you my friend it is a high honor. Please don't betray the trust I have in you.

Thinking of my children

This week we had a tragic event happen. A child my son's age and whom my son played with pretty much on a daily basis died of an asthma attack. This is a child that my son played with all the time. To know that he will never be in my house again is such a sad thought. I know that there is always a reason for things to happen, but at the same time it upsets me greatly when it happens to someone so young. I can't even imagine the pain that his family is going through. I sat my son down and we spoke about it at length and he felt better about it, but you could see the usual sparkle that is in his eye had dimmed a little and to see that hurt. My kids are my life and I would do anything for them. I just wish I could protect them from stuff like that, but at the same time you know it's something they have to go through because it is a part of life.

So the lesson I learned was that no matter what you do or how protective you are of your children it doesn't matter because life will happen to them whether you want it or not.

Endless Midnight
Endless Midnight by Gabrielle Evans

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was a little disappointed with this book. I usually love books by Gabrielle Evans, but I just couldn't understand the point of throwing Flynn's character into it. I thought it would have been good without him, but what do I know? I do hope there is plans to write more in this series cause as of now I just feel like I have been left hanging.

Oh this book made me want to kick someone in the head.....lol.....I pick Storym for that option.....he was so stubborn, but when he finally pulled his head out of his ass it was worth the frustration in the beginning. Nick was hurt, but got past it when he realized he was finally getting what he hoped for. The two together made a great team as far as solving the crimes that were happening around the palace.

Review: Hunter

Hunter
Hunter by Lynn Hagen

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This series just gets better and better. I loved Hunter, Quinn, and Tristan. Tristan was the scared misunderstood mate that just warmed your heart and you hurt for him, but quickly found his self again when he found his mates. And who better to do the job but the strong wolf Hunter and the head strong, understanding human mate Quinn. It was nice to also see less drama happen when Quinn found out about the paranormal world. I could see how he was hurt by not being told by his mates that he was in fact their mates. He got over it quickly and you left with a brilliant story of love, fear being concord, and a relationship that had so much promise of the future to come.

Cheetah in Charge by Joyee Flynn

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cannot get enough of this series. This book has by far been my most favorite of them all. Who knew Cass had all that going on in his head? He seemed so put together in the other books, but to know that there was something so much deeper going on, just made me love his character even more. Joyee Flynn is very good at drawing you into her books, but this one over exceeded my expectations!

I really liked this series. The characters in these books are different from your average shifter books that you read. Avanti, Jesse, and Craig complement each other so well. I found myself laughing out loud to a lot of the antics that Craig pulled. I am looking forward to more. I have a feeling Craig will be the trouble maker out of the mates....lol.

Close Minded People

I have come to realize that main stream people are idiots. Don't question what I do concentrate on your own problems. If you have a comment about me and what I do keep it to yourself. I don't care what others think of me. I am here on this earth by my higher power and no one can take that from me. I do what I do for me and my family. If I am not harming you and yours then mind your own business. My family are what are important and nothing else matters. Why should I take advise from those who have not done better. Just because you are older doesn't make how you did things right. Like I said your advise was not asked for so keep it to yourself. If you don't like my attitude kiss my Puerto Rican Ass cause I don't care!

Review: Hondo

Hondo (Demon Warriors, #1)Hondo by Lynn Hagen

This was a great start for a new series. I love that Hondo is not aware of what everyone else can see until he is hit with it. Chris is too cute for words. Having these two together was a good pair. I can't wait for the next. Snooke is a mystery all by himself.

Review: A Prophecy of Destiny

A Prophecy of Destiny (Ancient Prophecy, #1)A Prophecy of Destiny by Leiland Dale

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really liked this book. I enjoyed reading the journey of Eric having to take to find his mate. It made it more real for me. Not just that one happened to live in the same place. He actually had to work for it. The fact that Will had already learned about wolf shifters was a bounce and there wasn't all the drama that usually comes with finding out about shifters and being mates. The back story of Will's history was also interesting and the fact that he still had a family member who could help him was really great. I look forward to reading more of this series.

Review: A Loving Hart

A Loving Hart (Heart of the Mountain, #2)A Loving Hart by Leiland Dale

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is one of those books that you read and wonder what is going on until it is right in your face. I loved that! I loved the first book, but this one was the best for me. I loved the relationship between Jasper and Seth. Seth truly finds that love that he so obviously deserves. Jasper gets a life that he has dreamed of and the love of his brother that he thought he loved. I couldn't have asked for a better read.

A Nanny for NateA Nanny for Nate by Lisa Worrall

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I read this book on a recommend basis. I have to say I was very impressed. This book gives the range of emotion one would want. I loved that we had a little of the child's point of view in this book. The relationship that develops between the two men is a contrast in the making and I would read this book all over again just to enjoy the journey.

Brothers Without Borders (Unbreakable Bonds, #1)Brothers Without Borders by Leiland Dale

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was a little leery about reading this book at first. I have read books of this kind before, but never felt the emotional connection I did when I read this book. I have to say that Leiland Dale's writing style made this a better read then I thought it would be. I was pulled into the story and then had to sit down and read the next one just to turn around and want more.

Review: Dagon's Ride

Dagon's Ride (Brac Pack, #19)Dagon's Ride by Lynn Hagen

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved how this book ended. I look forward to more. Dagon's understanding of his mate, Taylor, and the love he has for him from the beginning warmed my heart. He had looked about and beyond what Taylor's background was and loved him anyway. That is what real love is. Lynn Hagen knows how to pull her readers into a story and keep them there.

Review: Softly Spoken Lies

Softly Spoken Lies (Moonlight Breed, #4)Softly Spoken Lies by Gabrielle Evans

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book most out of all the others in the series. I wanted to kick Blaise in the head a few times, but hey he was in a stressful situation. Cole was a little more level headed although he had his moments too. Willow I just loved from the start. Overall, I was happy with this book and look forward to more.

Review: Whispers in the Night

Whispers in the Night (Moonlight Breed, #3)Whispers in the Night by Gabrielle Evans

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was already half in love with Jackson's character and this book just cemented things for me. Talon, I just wanted to kick in the head a couple of times and tell him to get over himself, but in the end you really understand his reasoning for doing the things he did. Once again Braxton and Keeton are up to their usual antics but it always ended well. They had good reasons for doing what they did and it actually helped Talon open his eyes to things he needed to see. I am really looking forward to what happens with Boston, but we have to get through Blaise and his story first.

Review: Reckless

Reckless (Southwestern Shifters #3)Reckless by Bailey Bradford

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I did find the story line lacking. I really liked the other two books in the series, but for me this story wasn't as believable as the others. I know this is a fantasy world book, but there are certain things that just can't be faked no matter how much strength a paranormal is supposed have. I really like this series, but this one was kind of out there even for me.

Review: Relentless

Relentless (Southwestern Shifters, #2)Relentless by Bailey Bradford

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I laughed so much in this book. Zane and Aidan make an interesting pair, but in a good way. I felt that I could understand Zane's reactions in this one because of his history with Mika from the first book, but in running it only means Aidan has to work a little harder at what he already knows he is going to end up with. Aidan understanding of the situation once everything comes out is a plus in his character. Gabe and Mika are in this one too and I have to say Gabe's antics had me laughing to the point that I could no longer read this book at night in the same room as anyone else.....I mean it was to the point that I had to make sure not to even look at this book when it was night time. I really enjoyed this book!

Review: Rescued

Rescued (Southwestern Shifters, #1)Rescued by Bailey Bradford

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Gabriel and Mika are so well matched that it made it to read this book. Gabe was a character and yet he had his moments when you just wanted to cuff the back of his head and say "Really, seriously. You didn't just go there.", but they were moments that could be forgiven right away when he either did or said something that made it all make sense. Mika was the ever strong alpha of the two. His acceptance of his mate was what made you really like the guy. It seemed nothing Gabe did could be wrong in his eyes and that is what love should really be about. People who can be together and not get flustered at the little things about the people they love.

Review: Touch Me Gently

Touch Me GentlyTouch Me Gently by J.R. Loveless

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have to say this was a really good read. I laughed and cried with this one. The things that Kaden went through and he still had strength was inspiring. I related to him on a lot of levels. Logan is a good man and has what Kaden needs to get him past his abuse and horror. He is more patient then most men would have been and gives Kaden the support he so desperately needs. I fell in love with both these characters and found that this was a book worth reading again and again.

I loved Keeton and Logan in this. Keeton and Braxton's antics are hilarious in this. I found myself laughing out loud a lot and I love books that can do that. Keeton wasn't just some weak sounding guy. He had his strengths and made sure that Logan knew about them. Logan was a good pairing for him.

Alpha Born (True Blood Mate, #2)Alpha Born by Stormy Glenn

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I wasn't thrilled with the changing of one of the main character's name "just because it was hard to pronounce". I mean if you are supposed to be changing with the times, wouldn't that be a part of it? I'm just sayin'. As for the overall book itself it was a good read. Knowing that what happens to the villains in this book is poetic justice.
